Hi, could anyone help with advice on the following Romahome Dimension problem. Im giving my fathers 2004 dimension (8800 miles), a bit of a spring clean for him whilst he is in hospital undergoing cancer treatment, (I wont to encourage him back into his van when he gets better). Due to his ill health he has hardly used his van in the last year, and the toilet flush tank is full of black slimmey bits. (im a caravaner, who aspires to a campervan one day) i've come across this before on my caravan "But" on taking out the toilet cassette to drain down the tank I found that unlike on my caravan, there is no drain tube, just a "bung" set back about 4". when removed 50% of the contents went on me (Fair game, not quick enought in getting out of the way) but more concerning was the other 50% went into the cassette bay. Should there be an extension tube? can I buy one, and is there a cure to the black slimmey bits ? My father loves his dimension, but this has niggled him for some time, so I wont to find a solution. Thanks

Hi dspm, sorry to hear about your father, I hope he is soon back to health and enjoying his Dimension.
According to our instruction manual if its got a drain plug you have to flush the toilet until the tank is empty and no more water is being pumped out, then place a sufficiently large bowl under the drain plug, remove the plug and catch any remaining water. So to answer you question, no there isn't a drain tube.
As to the black slimey bits, we have had that problem and we increased the amount of flush additive in the water and it prevents it going stagnant. If the van has been standing a while and not used it is possible the water has just stagnated.
Probably you need to keep filling the tank and flushing it through to get rid of the residue.
Hope that helps
Regards Graham

Thanks Graham, Now why did I not think of flushing until empty it makes sence (now). I was tempted to put a Milton type steralizing solution into the tank, but perhaps a couple of good tank/loo flushing sessions will help. Cannot see him using it before July/August at best. If I can talk the wife into trying a few weekends away in it, you never know you may have a new convert

I don't know anything about this problem as we don't use anything in the flush tank apart from water, but I found this on another forum: toilet troublesOh and welcome to the forum and have a trip in the Dimension and you'll be converted to campervans.

Wendy, your water doesn't have time to stagnate with all the lovely trips away you get in your van. ;D
