Just checking in! We've recently bought a 1995 Romahome C15D Hylo. Used it once and am now planning for France in October. Good to be here.

Welcome Mike and Cynthia. This forum is growing by leaps and bounds - seems that everytime that I look there is someone new. We are all very friendly on here and usually someone comes along to answer any questions. Lucky you, going to France in October - whereabouts are you planning on going? As well as friendly, we're quite nosey!

France in October sounds wonderful. As Wendy says we are a bit nosey so do let us know how you get on. And if you find a little gem of a campsite do send us a review for the website! We love to visit sites that others are happy to recommend.

We are all very friendly on here and usually someone comes along to answer any questions. Lucky you, going to France in October - whereabouts are you planning on going? As well as friendly, we're quite nosey! We're off to Brittany to begin with via the Portsmouth-St. Malo route. Friends are loaning us a house in central Brittany, which will be our base, and from there over a nearly two week stay I don't know where we'll end up, but probably we'll be heading south or wherever there might be reasonable weather. Something we've never done is camp in French aires. Are they worthwhile, and is there a website somewhere with their locations? What about security outside camp sites? Any thoughts? Cheers. Mike J

Welcome to the Forum Mike and Cynthia, we go to France every year and love it but I must admit we have never quite had the courage to use the aires we have read some horror stories on various forums, but then again for every horror story there is probably someone who will say they never have any problems and have been doing it for years.
I've got a feeling John and Wendy may have camped on aires, I'm sure they will be along shortly with some sound advice.
Once again welcome, and enjoy yourselves in France.
Regards Graham

Hi Mike and Cynthia We have an Outlook that we bought this summer. We have been all over the country and would love to take him abroad but we have to sort out insurance for Terry as he has a pre existing medical condition and we could not travel without insurance.
this is a really friendly little forum and I have enjoyed watching it grow and am looking forward to meeting up with some of the members in October at our first meet. Viv
