Hi, Hello to everyone, we have recently purchased an R reg hytop and have had our first two weekends away already.
We run a Youth Hostel so wanted to escape the place on our days off. At this time of the year this means Sunday lunchtime to Tuesday tea-time. So we are the smug ones laughing at the people going back home on Sunday afternoon as we are just setting off. Life gets a bit more complicated come May when we open 7 days a week. Angela has Monday and Tuesday off then comes home and I go away on Wednesday and Thursday, sometimes to the same place.
The only real chance we get to have a long break is between November and February, so next Winter we hope to take the van away somewhere warmer.
So far we are highly delighted with the van and have found we can fit our two Brompton folding bikes in the Luton area and our tripods and scopes for birdwatching under a seat. Who needs anything bigger

Hi Steve and Angela - a big welcome to the forum So envious of those who can do the Sunday onwards camping, it must be lovely to camp when it is so quiet. Scopes and tripods for birdwatching - you sound just our sort of people! Look forward to chatting with you more as you explore the joys of Romahoming

Welcome Steve and Angela We are in the Sunday to Thursday camping league! Also carry bikes and birdwatching kit. Hope to meet up with you sometime - which youth hostel are you at? I'm sure that you will have lots of enjoyable trips with your van.

Hi, We run the Youth Hostel at Blaxhall in Suffolk. A very popular placw with over 7000 overnights a year, so the van is great to escape the place on our days off. It's a great location for birdwatching just 12 miles from RSPB Minsmere and with nightjars 10 minutes walk away in Summer and nightingales across the road.

We may get over there in the summer as we have family in Felixstowe and of course Minsmere is always on the list to visit. We have stayed at Blaxhall YH a few times, but not now that we have the van.
