Having found lots of useful imformation since buying Roma I've decided that I should join. I look forward to receiving lots more help and advice and maybe when I'm a more experienced camper I'll be able to offer some advice too.

Hi Judith
Welcome to our merry band, glad you have found the site informative and I hope you have lots of fun holidays in your new Roma. Have you given her or him a name yet, most people seem to want to name their new babies.
If you have any questions there is normally someone on here who can help, and as you say when you know all there is to know you can come on and help someone else who has just started. Thats what this site is all about. Meanwhile enjoy yourself and lets hope the weather gets a bit better so we can all get out and about.
Regards Graham

You really have come to the right place as the people here are the friendliest on the web and someone usually has an answer for all queries.
Enjoy your new baby and use it as much as possible - and don't let the weather put you off. We all enjoyed ourselves at Hayfield this weekend despite the weather.

Hello Judith Really friendly lot this lot! I have been on first two meets so far and missed the third because we had a family party, but I am determined not to miss the fourth.
Nice bunch of people.
Hope you enjoy your new little van as much as we do.

Thanks for the welcomes. I've seen from previous posts that you are all friendly amd supportive. We actually just call our van Roma! Very boring I know, when I look at the lovely names that other people have!! Had our first weekend away in Dorset. It rained most of the time but it was fun. If the person who came to our rescue putting up the awning reads this, then a big thank you. I'm sure that we caused amusement to all who sat watching us trying to work out what went where. (It only arrived an hour before we left so didn't have time to try it out). We want another outing before we go to Coll and Tiree in September. We're really looking forward to that. I see that others have done some of the Scottish Islands.

We never managed to practice with our awning either before we went. When we set it up we had to contend with gale force winds and rain. It stayed up one night and it was even harder to get it down as the wind was worse and we had to lay it out in the van to dry ( filled the van) and we had to go off for a trip all afternoon so it could air.
Loads of people offered to help though. We also noticed two abandoned awnings next to the dustbins!!!!!!
I am hoping the weather gets better for August and September so we can have a break without rain and wind.
