Hello, Stumbled across this site so I thought Id join in. My camper is a Mazda Bongo with a double rear conversion carried out by Manchester Campers. Im an active member of BongoFury owners Club and enjoy getting out and about in the van.It has proven to be a fantastic vehicle and doubles up as everyday transport as well as weekends away etc. Im sure I will chip in with things as We go!! Cheers Dabs

Thanks for the Welcome, Im not saying Im as mad as Yamaha but We have to be a bit mad to drive round an a camper called a Bongo in the first place One thing I have to say is that any Meets that We have in the Owners Club are serious parties We do enjoy Ourselves. I have had My Bongo since July 2006 and its been a superb vehicle and always draws a lot of attention mainly because people dont know what it is Quite a few people are tempted by them once they have seen them in the flesh and got round the daft name.Of course they could go for the tamer named Ford Freda which is basically the same vehicle with a slightly different interior and slight external changes too.At least Mazda had second thoughts on its initial name which was "Mazda Moving Cottage" fancy driving round with that emblazoned on the side Dabs

Hi Dabs
It is a little quiet at the moment, we do have our busy times but some regular posters are on their jollies at the moment.
We don't really have formal rallies as such, its more a case of someone saying they are going camping at such a site would anyone like to join them, we find this works better than trying to organise a rally and collect money from people etc. plus to do that needs public liability insurance.
A few of us met up at Hayfield in July and there is also a meet at Bridgewater later in the year to see the carnival, Yamaha has organised that one, see separate thread.
We were having a meet at Corwen but in the end only two units could make it so it was cancelled.

plus to do that needs public liability insurance. Graham Graham its interesting that You should bring this subject up,why do You need this as I do know that any Meets organised by the members over on Bongo Fury (Not the official club Meets) have never had this. I organised a meet in June which was attended by 34 Bongos this never came into the equation at all so any pointers as to why You think this should be obtained will be greatly received.I also know of two further Meets due very shortly that also will not have this as well. Im intrigued Cheers Dabs

Hi Dabs
We aren't really sure but we had a conversation with someone at a campsite and he told us that if you organise a rally you should really have public liability insurance, we assume that if someone injures themselves they could claim from you as the organiser. That's why we always say if people want to meet up at a campsite they should book themselves then there is no problem.
It is a bit of a grey area and don't quote me on this though because I'm not totally sure I am right, but personally I would rather not take the risk of being sued.

Hello!
I can't speak for everyone else, but I don't have time to post that often, but I usually log in once a month or so and catch up then. It might not be a busy site, but everyone seems very friendly.
I would definitely be up for a meet at some point, and would be happy to help with organising.
