Hello all, after lurking as a guest for quite a while - have decided to join tonight.
Not a motorhome owner yet - but - very interested in small motorhomes. Met Ant at the NEC recently - also met him 12 months ago at the same venue. I've been looking at Romahome, Nu-Venture, Wellhouse and similar.
Romahome Outlook is still top of my list at the moment. Storage space is a bit of a concern (wet wellies, waste water containers etc) but I like the idea of a small narrow motorhome that I can get into car parks and country lanes. 50 mpg is also very attractive.
By the way, I have a website link displayed in my profile - this advertises my guesthouse - if this is frowned upon, let me know and I'll remove it.
Kind regards, Neil.

Hi Neil
A big welcome to the forum, lots of advice etc on here to help you make the right decision. Regarding waste water containers the outlook has a on board waste water tank and a fresh water tank for that matter so no need to carry containers about. There is also an outside locker where you could put your wet wellies.
We don't have a problem with advertising your guest house (as long as we get a discount ;D), seriously we don't have a lot of rules on here, so just come on and enjoy.

Your B&B looks lovely!
I love Flint Castle! It appears to be the only castle in N. Wales which is free admission (well, was the last time I went!)
I remember going up into the hills behind Flint to get home (looked interesting on the map) and I remember a few lovely little villages in the foothills, I'm sure I know the name of your village, it sounds familliar.
Any spare land for a meet???
Jay ;D

Many thanks to JayJay and Graham. Yes JayJay, Flintshire is a great place to be with some lovely villages as you say. I don't have spare land I'm afraid, just a car park - I wonder how I stand with planning permission for a meet. www.visitflintshire.com and www.visitmold.com have some interesting details about the area. There area few issues that I'd like to raise about Outlook ownership ( How to empty on board waste tank without a portable receptical, how to fill on board fresh tank without similar - drive to a tap? - can a porta potty be carried if the toilet option is not specified etc) mainly about storage but I'll raise them in the appropriate part of the forum. Thanks again.

Hi brougham We have an Outlook and would not change it for anything else. Maybe change for a newer model in a few years and would consider having a 4 seater and then even getting rid of the car - who knows.
Regards storage we find it carries everything we need and we still have loads of space.
With our last van we did buy a large plastic storage box with lid to use for muddy wellies and boots that we used to store under the van if we were on site and we just used to dump it in back as we drove off. We also now have an awning and if we are staying for more than a couple of days we leave things like that in there for the day.
I have found just one advantage to being quite a short person and that is that I have the drivers seat well forward and there is space behind the seat on the floor for a large box containing TV and a wine and magazine holder that hangs from back of seat!!!!
Our Luton easily takes all our bedding, table, chairs, sun shades washing up bowl etc etc and there would still be room for a couple of carrier bags of muddy boots.
Happy camping

can a porta potty be carried if the toilet option is not specified Hi and welcome! Don't think anyone else has replied to this query so...the smallest Porta Potti fits snugly in the front nearside locker in our Outlook. We chose this option rather than the 'fitted' toilet because we weren't keen on the tip up sink and wanted to keep all the under sink space for plates, pans, cutlery, food etc. Good luck with your research! And I bought a Luggable loo - it'w a large bucket with a comfy seat - really good! And that fits into the pace under the sink too, and can double as a waste water bucket in the daytime.

Hi and welcome, I have a Towsure fire bucket complete with a lid, which travels in the footwell, and if I am loaded up as I am the cook house for my son and his family, I use the bucket in the night, no problem, but if I am on non sans sites or wild camping then I use the portapotty which sits in the locker behind the driver and it stays there insitu. My friends have the duo and they keep in covered up during the day in between the seats and use as a coffee table!!!
Romahomes can take more 'junk' sorry camping items than many of the larger counterparts.vehicle, a proper little tardis.
I lived in mine for 6 weeks touring Scotland including Wild Camping. for 2 ppl. One idea is to place a curtain pole across the luton as high as it will go and make a curtain which contains pockets, these can hold many items, I made one for my C15 it is both useful for additional storage and it also hides everything up in the luton.

Joan said "I have a Towsure fire bucket complete with a lid .......I use the bucket in the night, no problem" So you don't get back into bed with a sandy bum, then, Joan? Mike

Joan I love your idea for the curtain across the Luton with pockets and will have a go. How did you fit the curtain rail?
We never put the bed extension back there, it fits upright neatly behind the seats all the time. Just flap it down at bed time.

Joan I love your idea for the curtain across the Luton with pockets and will have a go. How did you fit the curtain rail? I had a similar idea, to use in the way Joan suggests, and also to hang a few coathangers/coats,etc up out of the way. I have used a thin expanding shower rail from B&Q, one with a great big spring inside - it takes a bit of muscle to fit as you have to hold the spring/poles in until it's in the right place before you let go, but once up it's there for good! I got a pocket hanger with coathanger-type hook ready made from Lidl's for £2.99 - it's supposed to be for shoes, but it's useful for lots of other things as the pockets are a good size. ;D
