Just back from the new forest and we saw many more Romahomes that ever before (about 3). Really exciting and lots of waving going on in that area.
Could it be that one of the main dealers is in //Southampton.-Freeborn Motors.

It could be due to the dealers Viv, because when Mr. Bywater was a dealer in Chapel en le Frith in Derbyshire we would always see quite a few Romahomes around there too. It's great fun isn't it to see another Romahome and have a good wave, even more exciting for us to see a Dimension, we've only seen two in the last year. (Not counting Wendy and John's In another post (about the Roma Club) Derek gave some figures which I found very interesting - he thinks that Romahome produce approx 200 units a year and over 20 years that makes 4000 Romahomes. Even allowing that some of them will have 'died' there must still be lots of Romahomes out there yet it is rare to see one, I wonder where they all are?! We were down at Southampton last weekend but didn't see you Viv We were dropping our son and daughter-in-law off at the port to catch their honeymoon cruise ship. We will be there again a week on Friday to pick them up so keep a look our for us! We did see an Outlook on the Salisbury C&CC Site but didn't get a chance to talk to the owner. The most Romahomes we've ever seen in one go was in the Minsmere RSPB Reserve car park a few years ago - there were four Romahomes including us!! Wonder what the collective noun is for a group of Romahomes?

Hi Both This is where I found the bit about 200 units per year www.iwcp.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=1252&ArticleID=1245919I made the rest up I would like to know how many have been made. Some have been exported to Sweden. www.romahome.nu/index2.html Check out "galleri" We have seen a couple of Duo Hylos and one Outlook locally. There are also somel Hytops and the older Hylos. The Hytops seem to hide in peoples gardens We have only seen one Outlook on a site but come across three older Hytops at various times. I vote for gaggle of Romahomes as the collective noun ;D

We saw a Duo (but could have been a Hylo) on a roundabout in Murat (Auvergne, France) in June, but as we were on our bikes, I don't suppose that they noticed us. John saw a Dimension parked at Don Amott's today when he cycled passed. The only other Dimension we've seen has been Pauline & Graham's. They must all be out there somewhere. Wendy

Thanks for the links Derek, shame there isn't a way to contact any of the Swedish owners and invite them here! Thinking about this 200 units per year - it sounds rather a lot, almost 4 per week?? I was under the impression that they make one every 6 weeks or so but I could be wrong. Unless it's an error in the report and it should be 20 per year! re the collective noun - let's hope it's not a 'murder' of Romahomes after the recent upsets

Talking of seeing other Romahomes reminded me of when we had our Duo and went to France, we hadn't seen many Duo's in England let alone France, but we came back to our campsite one evening and the owner of the site seemed very confused when he saw us. he muttered something about seeing us come back before, we didn't think much of it until we went to our pitch and were amazed to see another Duo exactly the same as ours in a pitch opposite.
The owners of the other Duo were equally amazed to see us too, I think the poor campsite owner thought he was seeing double.
I'm just glad we hadn't gone for a walk and come back to see "our" Duo being driven off by someone else, it could have been embarrasing chasing it down the road believing it was being stolen. ;D
Cheers
Graham
