I've just spoken to Mr Taylor at Taylor-Made regarding silverscreens. Although he hasn't any ready at the moment he will make some for me. He quoted me £49 which sounds too good to be true! Aileen

No Pauline, he doesn't have blue suede shoes but he does have VERY smart alloy wheels which are a bit posh for the rest of him. The previous owner called him Elvis because he has the maroon and gold flashings on his white suit that make him stand out in a crowd! We are off to Durdle Door in him this coming week and I have found the forum really useful. I now know about silver screens as well as about lowering the feet and keeping the lever on the handbrake!! Thanks for the welcome.

Durdle Door was brill and Elvis behaved impeccably. The weather was really fine and we parked up overlooking Portland Bill in the west and the hill towards lulworth Cove in the east. Elvis had many admiring looks and cut quite a dash with his awning attached. The wind really got up at night tho and two of the tent poles got slightly bent high up on the front corners. fridge didn't work for some reason so I'm about to ask Ant for some advice!

As a cheap option, I got a silver reflective windscreen shade from Pounstretcher for £2, which fitted the widescreen of my C15 ok.
They also cover the living area side windows well - I got another shade and a pack of sticky velcro dots, stuck one of the 'hook' dots in each corner and it velcros on to the upholstery round the windows no problem. I got another one, cut it in half and did the same thing with the side windows in the cab.
Not perfect, but a cheap & functional option - keeps the van nice and cool for a measly £10!

Some Tesco's sell rolls of silver backed insulation material. Its not cheap but easy to cut and measure and ideal if you wanted to make a few " screen shade's. B&Q sell the same product. It is really for insulating lofts etc.
