I've worked in childcare for the last 22 years and am frequently updated on all issues relating to child safety. I though I would share the new regulations governing the use of child car seats which will come into force on 18 September 2006 in case you perhaps hadn't heard of them and have children or grandchildren to carry in your cars or motorhomes. There are quite a few changes and they are set out on this Dept. of Transport website if you are interested: www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk/campaigns/childcarseats/childcarseats.htmI find the exemption "for unexpected necessity over a short distance, if the right child restraint is not available" a bit obscure - how far is classed 'a short distance'? Different people will have different ideas to that!
