We are so disappointed and can't quite believe it! Our Duo Hylo, registered September 1st 2005 had it's first annual service two weeks ago. We had it done a bit earlier than necessary as we are off on our holiday and it would have been too late to get it done on our return without risking the warranty becoming void. We took it to our usual garage who have serviced our cars for years. When we picked it up he showed us where oil had been dripping down from the engine. He was amazed as not only is it less than a year old but only clocked up just over 3000 miles. Went straight to the Citroen garage and told them. They booked it in to look at it last Tuesday. Found the problem but they can't do the work on it until this Thursday as they have to order the parts and it is a four hour job. The oil leak is coming from the oil seal on the cam shaft. I know these things do happen but we just didn't expect it on a brand new vehicle. OH stressed to Citroen that we are leaving early on Sunday to go on holiday and can they assure him that it will be done. They have assured us that it will be ready by Thursday afternoon. I'll let you know. To be fair to Citroen they didn't even question it when we took it in but then I wonder if that is because it isn't anything out of the ordinary as far as they are concerned.

Oh dear Moya that's awful Citroen dealers are usually good to their word so they should get it done on time. I wonder if any other owners have had a similar problem? As regards the service. I must be wrong but I was always under the impression that you had to have the services done by a Citroen dealer for the warranty to be valid. (Because they stamp the book etc) Does anyone else use garages other than Citroen while their vans are under warranty? Fingers and toes crossed that all is well and you will be off on your hols on Sunday. Keep us posted!

So long as you have the post check done by Citroen at 1,000 to 1,500 miles you can now got to any garage for the annual service providing they use correct filters, oil etc. and they stamp your book. If there is anything that malfunctions it must be done under the warranty at the Citroen dealer. As I said they didn't question it at all so are obviously good at dealing with any problems whilst under the warranty. I will let you know how it goes. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Just a quick update on the oil leak. The Citroen garage had the van all day, picked it up and more bad news. They fixed the oil leak but told us that one of the engine mountings was faulty and needs replacing! They have assured us that it will be ok while we are on holiday and they will send us a card when they have got the part in. Certainly cannot fault them with regard to the warranty but we didn't expect this sort of thing with a brand new vehicle. Always had second hand before so it is a bit upsetting. Just bad luck I suppose.

That is really bad luck, Moya. Hope that it performs alright while you away and have a good time.
