Hallo All again, Pleased to see that you are all booking ( 4 units so far )
Sorry that the organisation seems a bit weak with respect to the " Group" booking but I thought I'd wait to see if anyone else booked.
Nearer the time I intend phoning the site and asking for us to be grouped together. In the meantime could you please pm. me with your booking reference numbers, unless you wish to be alone.
John.

Hi John - thanks for arranging this. They didn't mention any booking reference when I booked over the phone - just had to pay a £15 deposit. Maybe they intent to put me outside the gate !! Mike

Hi John We will have to get you a badge as our official meet organiser, by the way what time will you arrange the bingo for? I'm a bit worried about Viv's OH and his funny habbits! The mind boggles. Seriously we are looking forward to meeting you all. We (Pauline) has temporarily mislaid the reference number its on an email somewhere on her very busy desktop, but we will let you know asap. Cheers Graham

Sue and I have booked today for the weekend - as non-members it was £34.60 for the weekend, 2 people. We were members last year, mainly so we could buy an International Camping Carnet, but have decided not to renew this year - so this will be the first Club site we've stayed on. I was quite shocked by the amount you are paying, although I know that it is the non-member price. Ours (members, over 55) is £18.20. If you'd joined again you would have recouped half the membership fee in one go. You might find that you really like the club sites - we certainly do and you'll want to visit more of them. Sorry if I seem to be an interfering busybody ;D

Hello wendy I hope you don't think me pretentious but I have just replied to a new member, cil who has sent his first post via the 'romahome in particular' threads. I mentioned the weekend and it just occured to me that perhaps some people do not know about it, if they do not look at the general discussion thread. Do you know what I mean? ?

Hi Wendy
Of course I don't think you're interfering - it was a bit steep, but, what the hell, gotta push the boat out sometimes!!
I feel it was worth joining the first year - we got our Camping Carnet (why are they SO exclusive over here - the AA used to sell them, then the Caravan Club - now only the C&CC, it seems ). Also,of course, we got the Sites books - and they probably don't alter much from year to year - plus, we tend to prefer quieter sites, now we're in our dotage!!
Looking forward to meeting up with everybody - haven't seem Derek's name down yet - is he coming, anyone?
Mike

Of course you were right to mention the weekend, Viv - the more the merrier. Yamaha, Derek has let us know that he can't make the weekend. So unless we all hate each other on sight - another one might be in order in the spring.

Just watch it, you young whipper-snapper. It's OK Wendy, one of us will be eligible soon enough. I won't say which one (but I've got a tartan blanket ready to drape over his knee when the time comes )

Hi everyone,
Sorry but I'm not going to be able to make the meet as my Outlook is not due to be delivered till November. If there is another one arranged for the spring I'd be interested. Hope you all have a good time and I'll keep my fingers crossed for the good weather in the Cotswolds. Tim

I was going to say, come and visit us anyway, and then realised that you live in Norwich. Quite a trip for a coffee and chat! You could always suggest somewhere for a spring meet.

Tim Hi Tim You mentioned in another post you were upgrading from a tent - you would be welcome to join us in that if it's not too cold! Just because we are called 'small motorhome' doesn't mean we are prejudiced against other units - anyone is free to join, tents, caravan, big van........... you name it!!

Is that the Playtex variety, Viv - or does it concern the van? ;D Mike You're being very BRAve Mike - watch out that Viv's OH doesn't ask for you to be 'suspendered'

I think that it was 'to modify the vacuum circuit of the braking amplification system of your vehicle' Unless you've had something else that we don't know about

:)Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. Taking all these into account and also your locations around the country I conclude that a campsite centrally located would be reasonable for most people. Accordingly, after much deliberation , I suggest The C & CC Club site at Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds When? The weekend Friday 27 to Sunday 29 October. John ;D Hi John, We are now back from our holiday but unfortunately can't make these dates as Roger works Saturdays and we have spent all our pennies now so he can't have the time off. Hopefully we might be able to do something in the spring and then we could make it. It would be lovely to meet everyone. I am sure you will all have a great time. Also as Wendy says the weather I am sure will be lovely for the Smallmotorhomers.

Sorry that you can't make it, Moya, but if all goes well another in the spring would be good.
Why don't you suggest some dates and a place that will suit you nearer the time?

Yes, sorry to hear you can't make it Moya, never mind Spring will soon be here!! <insert wishful thinking smilie!> Good idea Wendy to suggest that those who can't make this times meet to have first say on where the next one should be.

Hi all,
I'm thinking about the suggestion of a meet in the Spring and think that maybe the new C&CC site at Teversal, near Mansfield in Derbyshire, maybe a good choice. Its fairly central I would think. I am booked up for the week between Christmas and New Year so can do a review of it after that to let you all know what it is like. Mind you I visited recently in the car, while in the area, to see what it is like and first impressions were very good. Mostly hard standing, all electric hookups, very nice facilities, some 'family' washrooms. Very friendly staff, as it is a frachise site instead of club owned I was a bit unsure what it would be like.
Anyone got any thoughts about it as a possible venue?
Tim

That would be very handy - will look forward to your review after your visit. You didn't rush off to Teversal after listening to Lady Chatterley on Radio 4 did you?

Hi everyone I am happy to fit in anywhere, I don't mind where the next meet is and Derbyshire is beautiful. I note that the new Jane Eyre is filmed using Haddon Hall (if I remember correctly from last night when I looked it up) I did not know there was a Lady Chatterley link. I think also that Peak Practice was filmed using Longnor village.
