Sorry that the organisation seems a bit weak with respect to the " Group" booking but I thought I'd wait to see if anyone else booked.

Nearer the time I intend phoning the site and asking for us to be grouped together. In the meantime could you please pm. me with your booking reference numbers, unless you wish to be alone.

They didn't mention any booking reference when I booked over the phone - just had to pay a £15 deposit.

Maybe they intent to put me outside the gate !!

I hope you don't think me pretentious but I have just replied to a new member,cil who has sent his first post via the 'romahome in particular' threads. I mentioned the weekend and it just occured to me that perhaps some people do not know about it, if they do not look at the general discussion thread. Do you know what I mean??

Of course I don't think you're interfering - it was a bit steep, but, what the hell, gotta push the boat out sometimes!!

I feel it was worth joining the first year - we got our Camping Carnet (why are they SO exclusive over here - the AA used to sell them, then the Caravan Club - now only the C&CC, it seems ). Also,of course, we got the Sites books - and they probably don't alter much from year to year - plus, we tend to prefer quieter sites, now we're in our dotage!!

Looking forward to meeting up with everybody - haven't seem Derek's name down yet - is he coming, anyone?

Yamaha, Derek has let us know that he can't make the weekend. So unless we all hate each other on sight - another one might be in order in the spring.

I was quite surprised at the cost for non members too. We paid £23.50 as normal members (don't get the old fogie mature campers discount yet! ;D)

Hallo all you Meeters & the Undecided,

I would like to thank Graham(Bingo) and Viv(Belly dancing & fireworks) for their suggestions of activities.

With regard to the Bingo I was unsure whether to have before or after the Keep-fit session ;D


Seriously though the only actiivities I have in mind are synchronised drinking


followed by synchronised eating


With such an excellent pub nearby it would be a nice idea if those who want to eat out could go together. I'm sure that this could be set up when we have all arrived on site

Any other ideas are welcome for consideration but for our first event I think we should keep it simple

Sorry but I'm not going to be able to make the meet as my Outlook is not due to be delivered till November. If there is another one arranged for the spring I'd be interested.

You mentioned in another post you were upgrading from a tent - you would be welcome to join us in that if it's not too cold!

Just because we are called 'small motorhome' doesn't mean we are prejudiced against other units - anyone is free to join, tents, caravan, big van........... you name it!!

We had a recall for something on the Dimension, I think that was caps but Graham will tell you for sure.

Yes, that was it Wendy, although for some reason we recently had a recall on our old Berlingo based Duo (they must still have us as owning it on their records) and I have got a feeling that was something to do with suspension but we sent it back and explained we no longer owned it, I hope the proper owners got the recall.

Hi John, We are now back from our holiday but unfortunately can't make these dates as Roger works Saturdays and we have spent all our pennies now so he can't have the time off.

Hopefully we might be able to do something in the spring and then we could make it. It would be lovely to meet everyone.

I am sure you will all have a great time. Also as Wendy says the weather I am sure will be lovely for the Smallmotorhomers.

Hi all,

I'm thinking about the suggestion of a meet in the Spring and think that maybe the new C&CC site at Teversal, near Mansfield in Derbyshire, maybe a good choice. Its fairly central I would think. I am booked up for the week between Christmas and New Year so can do a review of it after that to let you all know what it is like.
Mind you I visited recently in the car, while in the area, to see what it is like and first impressions were very good.
Mostly hard standing, all electric hookups, very nice facilities, some 'family' washrooms. Very friendly staff, as it is a frachise site instead of club owned I was a bit unsure what it would be like.

Anyone got any thoughts about it as a possible venue?

I am happy to fit in anywhere, I don't mind where the next meet is and Derbyshire is beautiful. I note that the new Jane Eyre is filmed using Haddon Hall (if I remember correctly from last night when I looked it up) I did not know there was a Lady Chatterley link. I think also that Peak Practice was filmed using Longnor village.
