First, a happy new year to you all! Now that the euphoria of the Bridgwater Carnival meet has subsided, and following my success in the forum awards, ;D I think it is time to suggest the next meet. It would seem a good idea, while we have momentum, to have a meet sooner, rather than later and England is always pleasant in the early spring My suggestion is as follows: DATE, The weekend Friday- Saturday nights 14 – 15 March. This is the weekend before Easter and hopefully well away from other activities that people might be getting involved in. PLACE The proposed venue is Wolverley Camping & Caravanning Site just north of Kidderminster - see hereIt is featured on page 94 of the Club “your place in the Country” book. The location of this venue is a bit more central than our meets last year at Chipping Norton, Devizes or Hayfield so I hope that might help give a good turnout. This site has the good facilities expected of the C&CC so should be suitable for people in whatever type of unit. The other attractions of this site are adjacent pub for food/socializing and the adjacent canal (for long walks) ;D, I wouldn’t anticipate any organised “activities” and people would obviously be free to come and go as they pleased – this formula seems to have worked well before. BOOKING As for our earlier meets I propose that our members book their own stays on the site. At the moment the campsite is closed and only reopens a few days before our proposed meet but bookings can be made though head office at any time either online (C&CC members only) or by telephone (0845 130 7633). Non members of the C&CC will have to pay a bit more, but if you are thinking of joining it might be good idea to join before booking and save money. When the site opens I will phone them to try and arrange for us to be located together, if you advise me when you have made your bookings . I hope that Pauline or Graham can make this a sticky so that it doesn't disappear.

Hi John
Count us in on this one, we'll book online asap, we are going to try and get there Friday night but it will probably be after 8pm, so we will have to let the wardens know we are going to be late.
Here's hoping for some good weather and a good turnout.
Regards Graham

Hi All
I think we can make it, I will just check with Terry in case his social diary is full for that weekend (joke) he is having a nap at the moment with his teddy hot water bottle to keep him warm.
It is quite near our daughter so will probably get a Sunday lunch and another night camping in her garden.
I am getting excited already.

Just got a reply from CCC
QUOTE---Good Afternoon,
Thank you for your email regarding your up and coming booking at Wolverley. I can confirm that the correct price for this as age concession is £5.10 per night and then £2.90 for the Electricity.
Unfortunately there has been a change after the brochure went to print, but the information on the system is correct.
I hope this clears things up, if I can be of any further assistance please email me.
Regards
Debbie McGarry Membership Support Assistant---UNQUOTE
So it seems their engine is working OK but the graphics are wrong, and the prices we were charged are correct.
Hope this helps every one

Martin I have just been told that they will honour the £4.15 per night as quoted on the net price list so I am only play that amount plus elec. £2.90 total cost per night £7.05 = £14.10 Bit confusing between the two msgs.

I have also been on the phone to C&CC and they tried to charge me the price on the website. When I queried this the lady said that she would investigate and get back to me. She phoned back to say that the person who would be able to give the definitive answer is not in today and she will find out and ring me back tomorrow.
Will post again tomorrow after the next ruling. If they have changed it they should make that clear on the website and/or post it in the magazine.

I phoned to book this am and they charged me the £5.10 each plus £2.90. Phoned them back and they think there has been some error and will likely only the £4.15 each.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that we had a £14 ish credit so only had to pay £12.20 and owe them £1.20 but looks like the owe me now!!!!!!
Don't know where the credit came from but I do remember vaguely cancelling somethig somewhere last year.
I was just looking on the internet and found a really good deal to Alicante for 2p return with Ryan Air!!!!!! May just be off for a week or so before we go to Wolverley!

Joan Yes Joan it is confusing, but I will sort it when I get to the site. If I start phoning around it could cost me more thin than the over charge, if it is an over charge.

Morning all, This morning I sent a reply to the email I received from the CCC,stating how very dissatisfied I was with their on line booking charges, and this is the very prompt reply I receivd.... QUOTE Good Morning, Thank you for the reply to my email. After a meeting yesterday I was due to email you today to explain the situation. It seems that the error lies with the system and not what is in Your Place In The County, the prices stated in the book are correct, and there is a problem with the booking system which our IT Department are working on as we speak. We have had some price changes since the book went to print but Wolverley in mid and Low Season is not one of these affected. I am sorry about me informing you incorrectly but this error was only brought to light yesterday in a team brief. The money in which you have over paid will be reimbursed at the site when you arrive, the Sites are also aware of this problem. Again I do apologies for this error and hope that this will be resolved as soon as possible. Please feel free to email me back with regard to this, I do understand your frustration with to this matter. Regards Debbie McGarry END QUOTE It seems they have a problem and now have it sorted (we hope) Any way it will give us a small topic of conversation while we sit in the sun eating some very nice home made cake. I'm really looking forward to this meet as I think it will be my first outing this year due to the weather and other peoples plans I.E. the friend that gave me a totally free holiday in France inc. travel to and from there, is buying a new house in England (next door to me) and has asked me to help him move over the next few weeks, so what could I say. See you all soon Martin
