I would like to take my Romahome off the Honda Acty and mount it on a Suzuki Carry of about a 2001 to 2005 registration. Can anyone give me any helpfull tips that would help me, ie how much packing would be required etc.

The cab roof on the later Suzuki Carry is quite a bit higher Pic of a pod from a Bedford Rascal on the later Suzuki I have a feeling that the Rascal roof is higher then the Acty so you may need an even more packing. Have you spoken to Tony at www.actyvan.net/I believe he is the specialist in these upgrades Derek

While we're at it, would my Mk4/5 Rascal pod go on a USA type pickup?
Well, I can ask ... ;D

Wow!
What is the pick up, and what is that thing sitting on its roof? How is the pod attached to the pick up?

I haven't tried myself, but as far as I can see, hit [reply] then in the form that appears there's an 'upload an image' field.

It's the same as an 'upload' button I think, ie it will upload (copy) the image from your wee computer to the big one that hosts the website.

our demountable was on a Daihatsu, from experience parts aren't easily available off the shelf, most are 'to order'. Also service desk help at dealers are variable, our local dealer was useless, "sorry the parts manager is off sick and we don't have anyone who can cover for him"!!! where as the next dealer i tried was extremely helpful, ordering the part i needed and posting out to me to save me collecting it. I think the advise regarding which engine is, go for the 1.3. The 1.0 i'm told is prone to overheating and blowing gaskets etc. we did demount and remount ours, just to see how it was done, it wasn't to difficult a task. There is a small daihatsu forum, www.daihatsu-drivers.co.uk that was very helpful with a few problems we had. Also, there is a piaggio porter which I'm told is the same as the hijet just built by a different company, since diahtsu dropped the hijet. our only other complaint was the seats. Not the most comfortable or adjustable but some lumbar supports off ebay helped. Oh and most don't have a stereo, the dash looks like 1 will fit but it doesn't unless it got the aditional extra centre console. we had ours fitted into the glove box instead. good luck with the remount! Glen
